Man United fans reacted in their droves to a top Harry Maguire display vs Man City. The Englishman didn’t put a foot wrong.
Manchester United supporters have been more-than-willing to send abuse Harry Maguire’s way whenever the Englishman hasn’t played all-too-well. I guess that comes with the hefty price-tag, albeit more often than not the criticism has been unfair.
Well, here at Old Trafford Faithful, we’re a firm believer in being fair. The praise should be as loud as the disrespect and tonight, our club captain deserves massive credit for an outstanding outing.
Manchester City boasts a team jam-packed with attacking quality. Neutralising them isn’t an easy job. Maguire wore the armband with pride and defended his goal like his life depended on it.
Winning headers galore, making huge blocks and interceptions while also winning all of his tackles. It was a colossal outing from the Englishman and that shouldn’t go unnoticed.
Our defence has been inconsistent at best this season, let’s be honest. Performances like tonight’s definitely offers us some hope. There is a real solid foundation there with Maguire right at the heart of it. I guess now it’s all about finding that consistency.
The good news is that I wasn’t the only who thought Maguire had an excellent game. United fans would take to Twitter by the masses to react as the 27-year-old put in a top display vs City. We’ve compiled our favourite responses below.

Now it’s about building on from this. Our fixture list eases up (on paper) for the next few fixtures. United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have to take maximum points in the upcoming matches to make playing for a draw worth it.
