Man United fans praise Eric Bailly for display vs Chelsea

The Man United fans were delighted with what they saw from Eric Bailly vs Chelsea yesterday.

Manchester United will have taken a draw before kick-off yesterday, though the manner in which they dropped two points was somewhat disappointing.

The Red Devils actually worked well together as a unit, adopting a high-pressing style (probably due to the fact that they all know Ralf Rangnick is coming in as manager).

One guy who stood out, and reminded us all just how good he can be when in full flow was Eric Bailly.

The Ivorian has found himself out of the team over the last couple of years, some of that is injury-based while the arrival of Raphael Varane didn’t help his case.

However, when given an opportunity of a rare start yesterday, Bailly grabbed that chance with both hands and played brilliantly.

He looked quick when covering, brave with the ball at his feet and dealt with everything that came his way aerially. It really was the complete performance from a man who has barely pleased recently, which makes his outing that extra bit special.

With Varane out injured in the long-term while both Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire continue to struggle, perhaps this is the opening that the former Villareal man needs.

No doubt Rangnick would have been delighted with what he saw from Bailly yesterday – and he could well start against Arsenal on Thursday night based on that outing. He definitely deserves a more long-term chance to prove his worth, that’s for sure.

As you’d imagine, the United fans were impressed with what they saw from the rotation option vs Chelsea. Has Bailly forced his way back into the side with that? Maybe!
