Man United dropped another woeful outing against Crystal Palace last night, with only one player coming away with any credit; Luke Shaw.
Well, last night felt like the first time the Manchester United players knew their title race is run. To a man, the performance was half-interested from first minute right until last – which is deeply concerning.
Given we’ve still got to secure our place in the top four, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has some serious work to do in that dressing room in regards to keeping his squad motivated.
There was only one player who was trying to make positive things happen last night, in the form of left-back Luke Shaw.
He was the only attacking outlet for the duration, which tells you everything you need to know about how forgettable our performance was on the whole.
Shaw brought the energy, attacking desire, drive and willingness to win. Sadly, he was alone in that regard.
I’m just pleased to see how well Shaw is playing right now. He’s gone from public enemy number one at Old Trafford to quite probably the first name on the team-sheet.
I’d even go as far as stating that he’s the best left-back in the country right now, which is impressive given the stiff competition in the form of Andy Robertson and Ben Chilwell.
Hopefully, next time out Shaw will get more help from is teammates, but we’re going to see another equally-excellent outing in the Manchester derby on Sunday if we have any chance at coming away from Eastlands with a result…
Anyway, as you’d imagine, United fans were pleased with the 25-year-old following his great outing against Palace. They’d take to Twitter in their droves to react.
