Man United fans react as Dan James plays average vs Granada

Dan James was ordinarily average vs Granada last night – and that didn’t go unnoticed amongst the fans.

For Manchester United fans, Dan James is a player who’ll always divide fans. He can be excellent when we’re allowed the space to counter-attack, but you still feel the Wales international needs to add more to his game in matches where teams sit back and defend for 90 minutes.

Granada didn’t really open up too much during the first leg, which meant there wasn’t any real room for James to open up his legs and run into. Inevitably, that’d mean the former Swansea man wouldn’t really impact the game in a positive way.

To say James had a bad game would be harsh. In fact, I thought he made some decent runs and made the most of a tricky situation. The effort and energy was there – on both sides of the ball.

However, he’s the biggest reason why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may well bring in a top-quality right-winger this summer. The overall output from James isn’t good enough on a consistent basis. Simply put, he’s not going to win you titles.

When you’re taking on the team who have conceded more goals than anyone in La Liga this season, you need to see some real threat from your forwards. James didn’t show us that – hence the supporters were left frustrated.

Alright, so we don’t agree with these comments but in the interest of fairness, we always do one positive and one negative reaction post. Some of these are far too harsh in our opinion, but football is about sharing your own individual thoughts.

The United fans below expressed their frustration with the star who struggled vs Granada. Fair warning, it makes for pretty grim reading…
