This season for Manchester United is all about building for the future. The Red Devils are handing chances to youngsters aplenty this term, and it’s certainly refreshing to see.
Credit to that has to go to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. From the start, his ideology has been clear, with the whole club benefitting from looking at the bigger picture rather than the short-term fix.
Amongst the biggest talents at Old Trafford right now is Mason Greenwood. The forward has been used in fits and spurts by the Baby Faced Assassin, but every single time he takes to the field, he’s certainly impressing.
In front of goal, his instinctive finishing is by far Greenwood’s biggest selling point. Though you cannot underestimate his overall intelligence and on-ball ability.
Last night, Greenwood was a second-half substitute for England’s U21s, and within minutes of making his appearances, the talented teenager scored his first Three Lions goal. Once again, it was a typically cool finish after a simply stunning ball from another Manchester product, Phil Foden.
As you’d imagine, Red Devils fans were foaming at the mouth and rightly so. Greenwood is a player who’s only trending upwards and long may that continue. This is just another step in the right direction for him…
