What a week this is turning out to be for Manchester United. Jose Mourinho’s men beat Arsenal 3-1 at The Emirates, with the Red Devils doing their utmost to put pressure on Manchester City.
The game was easily one of the best I’ve watched in recent years. It was end to end stuff throughout, with both teams throwing bodies forward trying desperately to score.
Thankfully, when you have the best goalkeeper in the world in between the sticks, United know that they can take that extra risk because De Gea is more than capable of making a stunning save when all hope looks lost.
Today was one of those days for De Gea. He was absolutely sensational, making fourteen stops to keep Arsenal at arms-length, particularly in the first-half.
We’re genuinely lucky to have him, and it could have been oh so different if Real Madrid did succeed in prising him away on transfer deadline day a few years ago. What a performance from United’s #1, and the scary thing is that he’s only going to get better.
