Man United fans were less than impressed with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who struggled badly vs Man City.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United continue to struggle. Suddenly, we find ourselves in mid-table, over ten points off the pacesetters. It’s the same old story for our Red Devils yet again…
To a man, they were outfought, outworked and outclassed by their opposite number. Manchester City just wanted it more and that was evident in the play. Solskjaer’s boys just didn’t get into the game at any moment.
The performance was summed up by Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Spider is often so reliable defensively, but recently, he’s turned into an absolute liability.
Positionally, he was as bad as I’ve ever seen today, leaving acres of space for Phil Foden to exploit throughout. Tack on poor crossing, dreadful defending and the inability to pick out a pass and we’ve got a seriously bad day at the office for the £50million man.
Not too long ago, I genuinely thought Wan-Bissaka was on course to become one of the best full-backs in the world. Sadly, he’s not developed enough. In fact, he’s probably gotten worse over the last year. Is that down to Solskjaer? Possibly.
Wan-Bissaka, like many others, is at a career crossroads at United. He’s good, but is he good enough to help you win titles? We’ll have to wait and see. The problem for United is that the other options aren’t so attractive…
