Well, who’d have thought it, eh? Manchester United got one over on Manchester City and won the Manchester derby 2-1.
The game itself was played at a frantic pace from first minute right until last, with the Red Devils looking absolutely menacing on the counter-attack throughout.
Credit to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who got his tactics spot on, with his players executing them perfectly.
Winning the midfield battle is always so important and credit to the double-pivot of Scott McTominay and Fred. Both had outstanding games but for now, I’d like to concentrate on the former.
The Scot was sublime on both sides of the ball throughout. He always picked the right pass and was a driving force going forward. He also brings that, excuse my French, sh*thousery that any team needs to get under the skin of the opponent.
It’s just a pleasure watching the growth of McTominay. He really gave a game to Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva a real run for their money at times and for that, he deserves immense praise.
As you’d imagine, the Twitterverse were enjoying every minute of it, with Man United fans aplenty heaping praise on the 22-year-old and rightly so. What a performance.
