Yesterday, Manchester United continued their pretty poor form against Wolverhampton Wanderers, with the game at Old Trafford ending in a 0-0 draw.
The fans flocked to the Theatre of Dreams in anticipation of Bruno Fernandes’ Red Devils debut. After putting up simply sublime numbers over in Portugal, we were supremely excited to see our new man in action.
Starting the game in what looked like an advanced role, Fernandes drifted in and out of the match – but you can see that there’s something about him. He has a desire, a hunger and a willingness to work.
In what was a poor outing for United from an offensive standpoint, Fernandes was the sole creator, taking a few shots from outside the box and trying to take the game to Wolves.
Within minutes, Fernandes was willing to point, direct and instruct his teammates where to move and what passes to make. He’s a leader.
Unfortunately, there was no direct goal contribution for the Portugal international, though the intent and purpose was there. You feel he’ll only get better in future, as he becomes more accustomed to Premier League football while learning how his teammates operate.
For now, though, I’ll leave you with some weets from super-happy United fans aimed at the 25-year-old for his display vs Wolves.
