Man United fans react to Daniel James’ poor display vs Spurs

Well, it wasn’t exciting, but Manchester United Football Club made their return this evening.

I guess it was to be expected that the game wouldn’t be played at such a frantic pace given the amount of time off, but towards the end of the fixture, there were signs that the players were ramping it up and trying to return to business as usual.

It’s a strange situation watching football without fans. It’s definitely pretty eerie and certainly less exciting, but after all, it’s just eleven on eleven – and that part hasn’t changed.

There were winners and losers. Amongst the latter tonight was Daniel James. The Welsh winger just wasn’t at the races, and it was pretty evident from the first minute.

Yes, he has pace to burn but aside from that, his game needs developing. There’s very little on-ball quality, while James doesn’t possess the skill or tricks to beat a man who has their back to goal.

Quite frankly, I’m surprised he lasted until the hour make before being subbed off and yes, it may take James, like everyone else, some time to get back up to speed. However, when Mason Greenwood came on in his place, that right-hand side actually looked threatening for the Red Devils…

I’m of the opinion that when utilised on the counter, James is a brilliant option to have. Against a Spurs side who were always going to sit back, it’s probably not the game for him…

Anyway, United fans were less-than-pleased with James’ display, taking to social media to vent their frustration at the 22-year-old’s performance. After all, it was a poor outing vs Spurs for the Wales international:
