At Old Trafford yesterday, Manchester United fans were treated to arguably their best performance of the season.
The Class of 92 reunited with the historic 1999 treble-winning side to take on Bayern Munich legends in a friendly match in which the proceeds were all going to charity.
It was brilliant to see heroes from both clubs back in action, but one player stole the show; David Beckham.
His crossing was as pinpoint as ever, the effort was there as was the all-round play. I genuinely could see him still being able to play professional football at some level, which is remarkable given the fact that the man is forty-four years of age!
Every time he touched the ball the cheers were at their loudest, the fans shouted in awe of the sheer talent of the man who will always be remembered fondly across Salford Quays.
As you’d imagine, the fans on social media were buzzing about the ‘best performance from a United #7 in a decade’ and I don’t even think that fact can be argued – it was a stunning performance, and even taking the opposition into account, you never lose the on-ball quality that this man possesses.
