Man United fans pleased with Luke Shaw display vs Istanbul Basaksehir

Despite tonight being an evening to forget, Manchester United fans were pleased with the performance from Luke Shaw vs Istanbul Basaksehir.

Here at Old Trafford Faithful, we’ve had enough doom and gloom for one night. The players (and manager) are rightly getting hammered all over social media. After all, it was a poor performance from the Red Devils.

From Nemanja Matic to Harry Maguire, the supporters were not left impressed this evening. However, the contributions from one man were positive; Luke Shaw.

The Englishman has been playing like a man possessed since the arrival of Alex Telles. Perhaps all he needed was some stiff competition to spur him on. Tonight was far from a stellar display, but he was by far and away the best of the bunch.

It was Shaw’s inch-perfect cross to Anthony Martial that dragged United back into the game, while the left-back was a willing runner throughout. Sure, the final ball wasn’t always spot on, but at least he showed a willingness to work for the cause – which is something that cannot be said about everyone.

Credit where it’s due. Shaw looked like the only player who was giving it 100% and it showed. I’m glad the fans are highlighting him for praise despite the fact that he’ll undoubtedly play many games that are better than tonight.

It sounds pretty mad to see Shaw as someone who is setting the proper example, but there you have it. For as long as that’s the case, I’ll keep him in the team. It’s up to the other players to follow his lead and kick it up a notch – and quickly, or this season will be a write-off…

Anyway, United fans took to Twitter in their masses to express how pleased they were with the contribution from the 25-year-old.
