Man United fans were delighted with Diogo Dalot’s great cameo against Everton yesterday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s pre-season work is over. Manchester United will definitely enter the season on a high, drubbing Everton 4-0.
The game itself was a one-sided affair from the get-go, with all the regular first-teamers making their mark. The Baby Faced Assassin will have no doubt been pleased with what he saw.
However, there was one man in particular who caught my eye; Diogo Dalot. I’ll be the first to admit I haven’t been convinced with the Portugal full-back at times, though today, he was spectacular.
The former Porto man would come on as a second-half substitute and from the first minute, he looked outstanding. He’d run up the wing with pace, power and confidence, causing a constant threat to the Everton back line.
On more than one occasion Dalot would skip past his man and put a menacing ball into the box, reminding us all that he can offer something to this club.
I like the fact that he offers something different to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with the pair giving Solskjaer great options depending on what’s required from game to game.
Dalot’s afternoon was capped off with a fantastic header late on, wrapping up the scoring and heading into the campaign looking like he has a point to prove. Very well played, Diogo!
As you’d imagine, the Man United fans took to Twitter in their droves to heap the praise on the 22-year-old who put in a top display vs Everton.
