Man United fans were full of praise for Donny van de Beek, who dropped a top-class performance vs West Ham yesterday.

Old Trafford played host to some pretty glum faces at full-time yesterday, as Manchester United were beaten 1-0 by West Ham. The game itself was actually pretty entertaining despite the low scoreline.

The eleven changes made by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer played some part. After all, in came players who had barely played together and were low on match fitness.

Amongst them was Donny van de Beek, who started his first match this term. The Dutchman has been chomping at the bit, patiently waiting for his opportunity as he looks to put a disastrous 2020/21 campaign behind him.

Well, I’m pleased to report that Van de Beek started off on the right foot. The Dutchman looked silky from first minute to last, spraying the ball all over the park and keeping things ticking over nicely.

The movement was precise, the passing was crisp, the confidence was flowing. He looked like the player we paid big money to sign over twelve months ago.

His highlight came just after Mason Greenwood entered the fray. Van de Beek would play a lovely ball forward over the top, which Greenwood latched onto but couldn’t finish. Either way, it’s good to see that Van de Beek has it in his locker to play a pass like that.

Hopefully, this is the start of a bounceback year for the former Ajax man.

As you’d imagine, the Man United fans would react, as the struggling 24-year-old star bounced back and dropped a top display vs West Ham.
