Manchester United are in a real slump. The blame should head in many directions including the board, the manager and the players.
Yesterday’s 1-1 draw at Southampton showcased them all. Our squad is too thin, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer got his substitutes wrong while the players who were out there weren’t good enough.
Marcus Rashford epitomised it, for me he did anyway… The young Englishman made some great runs but couldn’t make that killer pass or emphatic shot at goal.
Time and time again, Daniel James put some solid balls into the box but Rashford wasn’t in the right position to tap those chances home. It became frustrating because he has all the potential in the world, I’m just not sure he’s best deployed as the main striker.
After the Chelsea game, things have gone downhill for Rashford pretty quickly. He’s back to looking like that inconsistent youngster that he has been throughout his career. Perhaps as he gets older, he will get better at that.
He is only 21, but United fans were fuming with Rashford on social media following the result. Rightly so, he’s one of our leaders now, and it’s up to him to take the burden on his shoulders and deliver for his beloved Red Devils.
