Well, Manchester United did their job and booked their place in the Carabao Cup fourth round, though it was convincing from the Red Devils.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men squeezed past Rochdale on penalties, after the game finished 1-1. There are no prizes for guessing who scored United’s goal with Mason Greenwood making it two strikes in two starts.
The 17-year-old continues to be United’s bright spark, which is crazy given he’s not even of legal drinking age yet…
Anyway, Greenwood deserves all the praise heading his way as he took his goal wonderfully well, though he could have done with some help from his teammates because he cannot do it all on his own.
As you can imagine, the fans reacted positively to the teenager’s super outing against Rochdale, though I think it’s pretty mad that a club as big as United are relying upon a young kid to score all the goals for them…
For now, it’s about hoping Greenwood plays against Arsenal on Monday. Although he’s raw and nowhere near the finished article, United actually need him. Ole now needs to have some courage in his conviction and give the 17-year-old a start in a huge Premier League game – though that’s a bold call.
