Man United fans react to news Antonio Conte looks set to head to Spurs

Man United fans are seemingly pretty happy that Antonio Conte looks to be headed elsewhere…

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer absolutely bought himself another couple of games at least, after beating Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 on their own turf.

It genuinely was a convincing performance from the Red Devils, who changed it up tactically and deserved all three points on the day.

In the aftermath, Tottenham Hotspur have taken the decision to sack manager Nuno Espirito Santo after just four months in charge. A brutal decision, but the fans made their thoughts clear at the weekend.

It goes without saying, United and Spurs could go head-to-head in the search for a new manager, with Daniel Levy settling on Antonio Conte, according to Fabrizio Romano.

That leaves United in a tough predicament. Do they sack Solskjaer now, knowing full well this is probably the last opportunity at making a late move for Conte? Or do they hold out and hope the Baby Faced Assassin turns it around? It really is a tricky scenario.

My thoughts on Conte are clear. The Italian’s style is completely different to what United are used to. The last time we went down this route with Jose Mourinho, it ended horrendously. I’d rather avoid going down that path again.

In my humble opinion, Spurs are welcome to the 52-year-old. Sure, it may work out there for him, but that’s not to say it would have worked out for him at Old Trafford.

As you’d imagine, this news affects us directly, with United fans reacting in their droves to the prospect of missing out on Antonio Conte. The overwhelming feeling was one of pure happiness from Red Devils.
