Manchester United fans were left frustrated with a poor Marcus Rashford performance vs Arsenal.
Well, for us Red Devils fans, it was a week during which we’d be brought right back down to reality. A loss to Sheffield United followed up with a poor 0-0 draw away to Arsenal. You really do expect better from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United.
For me, the Arsenal result was the worse of the two. Yeah, bad results will happen, but the lack of intent and desire to attack and try and score a goal was massively disappointing.
The forward’s just looked half-interested throughout the 90-minute game and at the highest level, that’s just not enough. Marcus Rashford summed it up perfectly. Unfortunately, he just had one of those games…
First and foremost, without giving them the attention they want, I’d like to touch on the despicable racist abuse that Rashford has received in the aftermath. Seriously, grow up. There is absolutely no need to make it personal.
That said, fans are allowed to vent their frustration when their favourite players don’t play well. That’s just the nature of the game and for Rashford, it was a tough afternoon. He’d overrun the ball on dribbles, be unable to control passes, misplace passes of his own and, most worryingly, he didn’t look confident in front of goal.
He’s having a brilliant season and off-days will happen. It’s just a shame that it came at a time where United needed Rashford to step up to the plate and bag another goal or tack on another assist. I don’t doubt he’ll bounce back strong, though!
As you’d imagine, United fans were frustrated with the 23-year-old’s performance. They’d take to Twitter in their droves to share their sadness…
