Man United fans react to poor Scott McTominay display vs Brighton

Scott McTominay delivered a less than impressive performance vs Brighton yesterday, with the fans reacting negatively on social media.

Manchester United Football Club are having their worst season of my lifetime. Four more goals were shipped to Brighton yesterday, making it 56 conceded for the season. That’s the fifth-worst total in the Premier League…

Ralf Rangnick’s side looked like boys against Graham Potter’s men at the Amex yesterday evening. To a man, each and every player were well-beaten in the one-on-one battle by their opposite number. This is Manchester United. This shouldn’t be happening.

No one player epitomised the disgusting display more than Scott McTominay. The academy graduate was nothing but a bystander in midfield, getting the runaround for 90 minutes against the far superior Yves Bissouma.

The tackles were non-existent. The game intensity was lacking. The passing was wayward. McTominay was everything wrong about United yesterday. Quite frankly, it was a shameful outing from a man who should be setting the example.

There’s only so much passion and positive talk that the fans can take. McTominay has often had the backing of the support, though after yesterday, it’s wavering. First and foremost, we care about effort. That wasn’t given for 90 minutes. That’s unforgivable.

It begs the question. Can McTominay start in a side with genuine trophy aspirations? Would he even make Liverpool’s bench? I highly doubt it.

As you’d imagine, United fans would take to Twitter by the masses to react to the dreadful display from the 25-year-old. They firmly believe he’s nowhere near good enough for this club…
