Manchester United have moved up into the top half of the Premier League table – courtesy of a quality 3-1 victory over Norwich City.
The Red Devils were good value for all three points, which coincidentally is the first time I’ve said that in a while. The combination between our dynamic front three is as good as we’ve seen it this term, largely thanks to Anthony Martial’s return.
However, there is one player who continues to fly under the radar; Scott McTominay. The midfielder scored again yesterday, and controlled the midfield wonderfully well – almost single-handedly at times.
Although he’s not the most naturally gifted player, you cannot doubt his commitment, on-ball quality and desire to win. Throughout the game he kept a cool head, played the right pass and always made the right decision. What’s not to like?
In typical fashion, the fans took to Twitter to praise their star man. Reds fans reacted to the 22-year-old, with one labelling him a ‘pivotal player for United right now’ while someone even claimed that NBC commentary even compared him to a certain Sergio Busquets!
For what it’s worth, I think he’s having an outstanding season and should be up there in the early running to win United’s Player of the Season award. A lot can happen between now and next May, mind…
