Just like that, Manchester United Football Club are back on track. Sure, a solitary win can’t solve everything, but it can certainly change the mood around the place – particularly ahead of a huge Manchester derby.
Beating Tottenham Hotspur, managed by Jose Mourinho no-less, is a big result for all involved – most notably the Baby Faced Assassin. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needed it more than most and the performances put in by the players showed that they’re more than willing to back their manager 100%.
One player who epitomised everything good about United’s victory over Spurs was Scott McTominay. The midfielder had missed the last few games through injury. The Reds drew all three. Coincidence? I think not.
McTominay is a real driving force from midfield, he always plays the right pass and isn’t afraid to get stuck in. Talk about complete.
There’s always something extra-special about seeing an academy graduate donning United colours and performing so well. McTominay was an absolute monster yesterday, as the Scot continues to prove he’s a big-game player.
As you’d imagine, Twitter was awash with United fans who were delighted with the 22-year-old’s dominant display and rightly so. What a player. What a change of atmosphere in and around Old Trafford!
