This morning Manchester United fans headed into work with a gloomy look on their faces once again…
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s regime isn’t going as planned, and although injuries haven’t helped. West Ham United were simply the better team yesterday, there’s no getting away from that simple fact.
Although there were several sub-par performances from players in United colours, Juan Mata’s outing was truly abysmal. After failing to get involved much in the first 45 minutes, the Spaniard missed practically an open goal which would have dragged his team back into the game.
Quite frankly, it’s not good enough from an experienced member of the squad. He should be leading by example, particularly after signing a new, big-money contract.
As you’d imagine, the fans weren’t best pleased with the 31-year-old, with supporters taking to Twitter in their droves to react angrily to Mata.
Some fans went as far as saying Mata shouldn’t be starting for United in 2019, while others claim he’s actually the worst player within the current squad.
Either way, it’s horrendous watching him struggle at this point in time and something has to be done about it – particularly with Angel Gomes patiently waiting for his big opportunity.
