Anthony Elanga put in another excellent performance for Man United, this time vs Brentford at Old Trafford. As you’d imagine, the fans loved it.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United continued their pre-season at Old Trafford last night – against newly-promoted Brentford.
As per usual, the overall result doesn’t really matter and it’s all about getting minutes in the tank and building up those fitness levels before the serious stuff starts next month.
The game itself was a pretty entertaining one. Both sides looked to put on a show for the 30,000 inside Old Trafford, with some excellent individual performances.
For the second time in two games, the player who impressed me most was Anthony Elanga. This young man is full of confidence, talent and class. It showed as he scored another goal, this time getting on the end of an excellent Aaron Wan-Bissaka cross.
It’s the Swede’s directness, willingness to get himself in the box and composure when staring down on goal is what I’ve been most pleased with. I genuinely do believe this kid is already good enough to play his part within the United first-team already. Dare I say, he’s pushing for regular starts?
Again, credit has to go to Solskjaer for giving him some minutes at the back end of last season as that seems to have done him the world of good.
As you’d imagine, the Man United fans were delighted with the starlet’s top display vs Brentford. They took to Twitter in their droves to express their happiness.
