Two games. Two clean-sheets. Dean Henderson continued to impress last night, as he put in another excellent display vs Brighton.
What a goalkeeper we have on our hands, huh? For all their faults over the last decade, Manchester United have been rather exceptional when it comes to choosing and developing goalkeepers.
Dean Henderson is the latest in the growing line and no doubt David de Gea is suddenly feeling the pressure.
Credit where it’s due, in both of his United starts, Henderson has oozed calmness. He’s always in complete control and ready to make the big save when called upon as he showed again last night.
You have to praise Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, too. It was he who allowed Henderson to go out on loan back to Sheffield United last season, which has done wonders for his career. The Baby Faced Assassin also chose to bring Hendo back at the perfect moment.
I get the feeling it’s only a matter of time before he’s our number one. Yes, De Gea will fight for his job but it does feel inevitable.
Anyway, the fans on Twitter were quick to share their excitement at Henderson. In fact, they were buzzing with the 23-year-old’s display. He was brilliant!

For Henderson, it’s about continuing to work hard and playing well on the training field. He’ll get opportunities in the cup competitions and any slip-up from De Gea could see a first Premier League start in Reds colours for the Englishman.
I honestly think he’s ready right now. It’s tough to replace De Gea who has been such a brilliant servant, but Henderson is impressing and dare I say it, he’s in better form than his Spanish counterpart…?
Well played, Hendo!
