Eric Bailly would make his injury return vs Everton last night. It’s fair to say he was absolutely excellent.
Manchester United were more than worthy of their 2-0 victory at Goodison Park, while for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, it was pleasing to see him make nine changes yet the team still look brilliant.
To a man, every single player out there played their part. In the end, whenever you keep clean sheets, you have a great chance at winning football matches. Club captain Harry Maguire has been the rock at the back all season, though last night, it was another centre-half taking all the plaudits; Eric Bailly.
The Ivorian, who has massively struggle with injuries recently, was simply outstanding. Quick, tough in the tackle, throwing his body in the way of absolutely everything and winning headers. It genuinely felt like he’d never been away.
It was his pace that kept Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison quiet, though he was rather fortunate to not see some form of card after clattering into the Brazilian midway through the second half. We’ll definitely take it though! However, we hope Richarlison is doing okay as it looked like a pretty bad one.
Hopefully, Bailly can keep fit. Having him as an option could well be the difference-maker this season. His speed is a massive asset to have, particularly when neither Maguire nor Victor Lindelof are the quickest defenders. In certain games, it’s nice to have the Ivorian available due to that speed.
Anyway, as you’d expect, the United fans have heaped the praise on the 26-year-old for his brilliant display against Everton tonight. He more than deserves all the hype coming his way on social media!
