Facundo Pellistri continues to impress, with fans pleased after an excellent outing vs Man City U23s today…
Earlier today, we wrote an opinion piece about Facundo Pellistri, who continues to improve while playing in the U23s setup at Manchester United.
The young man has scored three goals in his last three outings at reserve level, while his overall game is seemingly getting better and better. We’ve said it more than once, Pellistri was always going to need time to settle.
However, after just over a handful of games for the reserves, you’re beginning to see exactly what Pellistri can do. We’re talking about someone who is extremely intelligent with the ball at his feet. His decision-making is second-to-none as he seems to make the right choice more often than not.
It did take Pellistri a few games to get going, but now we’re starting to see why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the Manchester United staff rated him so highly.
Now, United fans have taken to Twitter in their droves to show how impressed they are with the 18-year-old. In fact, they’re already making claims that Pellistri should be given his first-team opportunity.

For me, I still feel we should let Pellistri develop at his own pace. Sure, I have no issue with the young man featuring off the bench in a cup game against lower league opposition or something like that. I wouldn’t want to throw him into the mix too soon though, and over face the young man, knocking his confidence in the process.
Personally, I’m just enjoying his development within the U23s. I suspect he’d be a part of our pre-season tour in summer 2021, providing we get one depending on how well we’re doing in regards to beating COVID-19…
