Man United fans react to top Luke Shaw display vs Liverpool

Man United fans have heaped the praise on Luke Shaw following a top display vs Liverpool yesterday afternoon.

Here at Old Trafford Faithful, we’re feeling pretty disappointed to come away from Anfield with just a point yesterday. Given at the same stage last season, we were 30 points adrift of our rivals, we think great progress is being made.

The 0-0 draw was a tense affair, though in the second-half, Manchester United did their utmost to break the deadlock. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t to be.

Defensively, though, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side wasn’t really troubled by Liverpool’s usually-electric front three. To a man, they all played their part. For me, Luke Shaw was the standout.

Pocketing Mohamed Salah isn’t easy. Shaw didn’t give the Egyptian a sniff for 90 minutes. On top of that, the Englishman’s positional play, particularly defensively, was absolutely brilliant.

Shaw also offered himself as an attacking outlet on more than one occasion also. It was his buccaneering runs forward that opened up Liverpool’s left-hand side. Unfortunately, those attacks ended up coming to nothing, but on another day, Shaw could’ve easily walked off the field with a couple of assists or even a goal to his name. That’s just how good he was.

Credit goes to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Alex Telles and obviously Shaw for this up-turn in form. Signing the Brazilian was a masterstroke as it’s pushed our left-back onto another level, who is now playing some of the best football I’ve ever seen from him.

As you’d imagine, United fans would heap praise on the 25-year-old United star who was absolutely outstanding vs our fierce rivals. They took to Twitter in their droves.
