Zidane Iqbal looked impressive in the second half vs Liverpool, with the Man United fans loving every second of it.
Erik ten Hag will be hoping to keep his side grounded following their emphatic 4-0 victory over Liverpool on Tuesday, though we fans loved every minute of it.
The only thing more exciting than a new manager in charge, is deciphering what players will flourish under the fresh regime.
In the second 45, Ten Hag made wholesale changes, giving a few young players their opportunities. Charlie Savage looked sublime, as did his friend and teammate, Zidane Iqbal.
Iqbal, a boyhood United fan, recently penned a fresh deal at Old Trafford. Now we know why the club decided to give him new terms.
The young man oozed class as soon as he took to the field. Slick touches, an excellent passing range and always making the right decision. Iqbal played with a maturity beyond his years – and it was truly special watching him play against Fabinho and not look out of place.
For one so young, correct managerial guidance is undoubtedly the most important thing. Having a manager like Ten Hag to learn from is huge for all the young Reds, including Iqbal.
I’m excited to see more of this young man as the tour goes on and I genuinely believe that Iqbal could have a first-team part to play over the next nine or ten months.
As you’d imagine, United fans were pleased with the teenager’s display, taking to Twitter to express their delight.
