Manchester United Football Club have a huge decision to make going into the summer in regards to their goalkeeper position.
The Old Trafford outfit have been in brilliant form of late, while picking their shot-stoppers is probably the thing they’ve done the best since Sir Alex Ferguson decided to leave.
David de Gea has been incredible, while Sergio Romero is the number one back-up in the sport. Then you have Dean Henderson, whose talent is just outrageous.
Yesterday, Henderson put in another colossal performance for Sheffield United, who leapfrogged us in the Premier League table thanks to the three points they picked up courtesy of his clean-sheet.
Again, the question has to be asked, is he ready to make his mark at Old Trafford on a regular basis? I certainly think so…
In terms of shot-stopping abilities, Henderson runs De Gea close, while Henderson wins the battle when it comes to command of penalty area pretty comfortably.
Simply put, Henderson is someone who can be the future of this club for the next ten years. Do you risk losing that to a direct rival? Or give him the opportunity? It sounds harsh, but for me it feels like an absolute no-brainer.
I’d make the move happen this summer, sell De Gea for the reported £70million and give Henderson his chance to shine. Thankfully, I’m not the only one, with loads of United fans taking to Twitter, all saying the same thing about the 22-year-old….
