Man United fans are disappointed with Dean Henderson, following his public outburst.
Dean Henderson was hotly-tipped to be given the starting beth at Manchester United by many not too long ago.
Heck, the Englishman absolutely deserved that opportunity. He was excellent while on loan at Sheffield United, before coming back and pushing David de Gea hard for the starting job.
Last season was undoubtedly hard on Henderson, who largely remained rooted to the bench. However, you’re expected to remain professional. Henderson’s scathing outburst at United in the media was never going to sit well with anyone connected to the Old Trafford club.
Again, I get his frustration. But discuss it privately. Don’t go out in the public eye and slag off the club that actually pays your wages. It’s distasteful and extremely off-putting.
I’ve been a massive fan of Hendo and I genuinely believe he’s the best man for the job. However, he has to follow the Cristiano Ronaldo train of thought and remain professional throughout. He’s done the exact opposite of that.
This absolutely now puts Henderson’s place at the club in serious jeopardy. Why should the dressing room welcome him back in when he’s just torn into everyone? Why should Erik ten Hag actually give him the time of day anymore?
Suddenly, I find myself thinking that I hope Henderson has a brilliant season with Nottingham Forest, purely to raise his value so that United can sell him permanently for a high fee next summer.
Thankfully, I’m not alone, with supporters super upset with Henderson on social media. As you’d expect, United fans are fuming with the player, with one believing his future at the club should ‘be over’ following these latest comments.
