Man United fans have seen enough, they think James Garner is set to make his mark this season…

Manchester United’s pre-season is done. The serious stuff starts next week. Ahead of that game, it looks like no new signings will be made.

Personally, I’d have loved to have seen the club make their move for a top-class box-to-box midfielder. After all, Nemanja Matic isn’t getting any younger while Scott McTominay needs help. Perhaps the answer is already at Old Trafford…

Enter, James Garner.

The Birkenhead-born midfielder has been on the fringes of things for a couple of years. Anyone who has followed for a while will know how much we rate him as a player.

A loan spell at Nottingham Forest last term has Garner full of confidence, while a decent pre-season with United only further boosts him in that regard.

Garner would play against Everton earlier today, putting in a decent cameo, reminding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer what he’s capable of. With several clubs eyeing a Garner loan for the 2021/22 season, United have a decision to make.

Personally, I’d keep him around. I really do believe Garner is ready to make that step up to the United first-team and it has definitely been a few years in the making for him. Thankfully, after scrolling through social media, I’m not alone in that regard.

After the match, Man United fans voiced their opinion on Twitter, believing that the emerging 20-year-old is ready to make his mark this season – if given a chance…
