Man United believe it’s an uphill battle to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Manchester United Football Club are in dire need of a reliable striker. The Old Trafford club need that hitman who can make the difference in those tight games.

Several names have been linked. None more so than Harry Kane. The Englishman has been Tottenham Hotspurs’ best player for years now, without any trophies to show for it.

The latest from The Mirror spells bad news in regard to United’s move for Kane. Apparently, the Reds ‘fear’ they are facing a ‘losing battle’ to sign the 29-year-old striker this summer.

Kane has just over a year on his current deal, though Spurs believe they can convince the club legend to stay, due to his club loyalty to the London club.

The player has spoken out in recent interviews about staying at Spurs, potentially trying to win the Europa Conference League with the White Hart Lane club. It means there’s a growing feeling Kane could stay in North London for at least one more season.

United simply couldn’t afford to wait another year to bring in a high-level striker, meaning the club could end up missing out on Kane, who feels like their priority target.

In terms of alternatives, The Mirror state that any potential move for Victor Osimhen could be boosted by the fact that the Nigerian would prefer a Premier League move over anywhere else.

At the end of the day, Kane is the ideal target, though I do get the feeling he’ll remain loyal to Spurs. I’m also unsure United want to pay the £100m+ it’d take to bring the striker to the Theatre of Dreams this summer.
