Manchester United have been struggling at the right full-back position this season. Antonio Valencia has been missing with injury, while Ashley Young, quite frankly, looks old.
That’s probably why Jose Mourinho sanctioned a move to bring in Diogo Dalot over the summer, in a deal worth around £19million. The 19-year-old has only played twice, but in both of those games, the former FC Porto man has looked bright.
Now, according to the man himself, Dalot is fit and back ready to make an impact for this struggling United defence. Hopefully, Mourinho puts the trust in him and Dalot rewards that vote of confidence.

It’s a shame that Dalot has been nursing one or two injuries since moving to Manchester, as it’s pretty obvious that he’s an immensely talented young man. He has bundles of ability, while possessing all the attributes to become a real success story for United. Now, it’s time for him to show what he can do in the Premier League.
I look at it this way. There may well be some early struggles for Dalot, but that’s how you learn and improve. Let’s be honest, he cannot do any worse than Young is playing at the moment, at least Dalot will have the pace and energy to keep up with speedy wingers that the Premier League has to offer.
I’m looking forward to seeing him in action, possibly starting this weekend against Crystal Palace…
