Man United get early derby injury boost, Aguero to miss clash: report

Although Manchester United still have a few games beforehand, one fixture Red Devils fans always keep an eye out for when the schedule is released? Derby day.

This season, the first clash against Manchester City doesn’t take place until quite late – December, to be precise. Like United, our cross-town rivals aren’t having their best season, trailing Liverpool by quite the distance already.

Anyway, before the encounter on December 7th United have been given an early derby day injury boost – as key City star, Sergio Aguero, is set to miss the game next month. That’s according to the BBC’s Simon Stone, who stated that Sergio Aguero confirmed the news at his press conference earlier today.

Aguero has often been a thorn in our side ever since the Argentine made the move to The Etihad, though this time around, he won’t be available after the 30-year-old picked up the injury against Chelsea on Saturday.

In terms of deputies, there are far worse players out there than Gabriel Jesus, though with respect, he isn’t in Aguero’s league in terms of quality. Plus, it leaves City short on numbers in a key area of the field.

At this stage, United need all the help they can get – particularly when it comes to big away fixtures. This game still won’t be a walk in the park (obviously), though it did just get a little easier…
