Man United get injury boost as Harry Maguire set to play in derby: report

For Manchester United fans, derby day is the second-biggest game on the calendar. Today, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will go head-to-head with Pep Guardiola once again. A win here coupled with a Chelsea loss and the Reds could find themselves in the top-four, though that’s easier said than done…

Ahead of the game, United have been sweating on the fitness of Harry Maguire. The Englishman rolled his ankle in training ahead of the Derby County game and it was unclear as to whether he’d feature in the all-important clash at Old Trafford today…

Well, according to the usually reliable Jonathan Shrager, United are set to get a big derby boost as the key 27-year-old ‘will play’ against City after seemingly overcoming those injury concerns…

Maguire is and always has been a tough cookie. He’ll put himself through the pain barrier for the cause and I don’t believe he’s 100% fit for this one. Make no mistake about it, he’ll be pushing his body to the absolute limit.

This is what you expect from a captain, though. This is what Roy Keane or Nemanja Vidic would do. This is why Maguire was given the armband.

Today’s game is going to be tough. Ironically, we’ve performed better against City on the road, but what a time to right those wrongs, huh? If Harry Maguire and company can keep a clean-sheet, then we’ve got every chance at earning a huge three points.
