The Man United squad is looking in good shape ahead of their game vs Newcastle United.
Manchester United suffered from a Covid-19 outbreak, which meant two games in a row had to be postponed.
While it’s bad news for fixture pileup later on in the year, the time off will no doubt give the lads a boost in terms of freshness.
Well, ahead of our game vs Newcastle United on the 27th, none other than Marcus Rashford has confirmed some massive team news boosts, admitting that United have ‘pretty much’ their full squad back available for selection.
Check out what Rashy had to say here:
“The lads have been training and today we brought all the rest of the lads back to training, there are only a couple left that will be coming in tomorrow,” Rashford said to ManUtd.com.
“So, we’ve pretty much got the full squad back, which is a positive going into the week.”
I’m going to assume he means that in terms of both injuries and the lads who suffered from Covid-19. We’ve already seen Raphael Varane back at Carrington which is massive, while we’ve also had news suggesting that Paul Pogba is close to a return to action, too. I’d also imagine Edinson Cavani is now ready to play again following injury.
I guess it now comes down to how the lads who have contracted Covid-19 are feeling. This disease affects people differently and some suffer with it far worse than others.
The club have kept the identities of those with the virus under wraps, so at this stage we still don’t really have any idea who had it bad – or who got off lightly.
With no game in sixteen days by the time the Newcastle fixture rolls around, I’d like to think all the Coronavirus sufferers are feeling well enough to at least feature on the bench, but you just never know.
Either way, we should have more than enough quality to beat a struggling Newcastle United side. That said, the Magpies always turn in their best performances against us…
