Manchester United Football Club won four from five before the international break stopped them in their flow.
However, this two-week period could have been a positive for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – particularly on the injury front.
Today, the official club website confirmed a positive injury boost, as three players returned to team training ahead of a huge away game against Sheffield United this Sunday.
First up, we have Luke Shaw, who is continuing to work his way back up to full fitness following a rather serious hamstring injury.
Second is Axel Tuanzebe. The defender pulled up in the warm-up of the game against Liverpool last month and we haven’t seen him since. He’s back involved, just a day or two after hinting at a potential return on social media.
Finally, we have Nemanja Matic – and weirdly enough, this is perhaps the most important player-return for United, as Scott McTominay still isn’t in training following a knee injury.
A further three players have also been involved away from the main group; Eric Bailly, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Diogo Dalot. It’ll be nice to see these guys involved in a competitive first-team fixture before the year’s end.
Teden Mengi, Di’Shon Bernard, Largie Ramazani and D’Mani Mellor also took part in the senior session, which is a great confidence-booster for those guys.
