Man United have been given a huge lift, as both Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez have made their return to training.
Manchester United’s first-team squad has been decimated by injuries this season. The Red Devils have found it problematic to stick with a consistent team due to several regulars going down with longer-term injuries.
As the season has progressed, players have returned. Now, another massive double injury boost has just taken place, with two key first-teamers making their training return; Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez.
Licha played just a few games before suffering a recurrence of his metatarsal injury. Obviously, that foot issue was way worse than initially feared, though it’s great to hear that he’s now on the mend and back in training.
Case has been dealing with a hamstring issue. Although he wasn’t at his best before suffering the injury, he was not helped by the players around him. Our midfield now looks stronger with Kobbie Mainoo back available, so I’m keen to see how those two play together.

Obviously, it’s going to take these guys some time to get back up to speed. They’ve been out for several months and Ten. Hag is a coach who always takes the cautious approach. That will not change here.
I’d guess at it being February before they’re both ready to complete ninety minutes. I’d be surprised if we see either take to the field against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup next up, too.
The worst thing that could happen here is that either Casemiro or Martinez are rushed back too quickly, suffering a further setback and prolonging their return. We’re going to need them if United are intent on finishing the season strong and trying to force their way into the Premier League’s top four.
