Man United given green light to sign brilliantly talented left-back: report

Manchester United Football Club have been given the green light to press ahead and sign Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham. That’s what The Sun writes, as per the Daily Mirror.

Apparently, the Cottagers are resigned to losing their star 17-year-old, and have already started looking for a new left-back to sign in January.

The Red Devils won’t have it all their own way though, with Tottenham also weighing up a move for the Englishman, who is making a name for himself with the London club at present.

Honestly, we need a new left-sided defender. Luke Shaw just hasn’t been good enough, although he has found opportunities limited. I like Ashley Young, but he’s not a long-term solution whatsoever. In the modern game, the full-back slot is so important, and you need a top-class player who can contribute on both sides of the ball.

The only issue is the £50million fee being mentioned in the aforementioned article. I get that he’s a talented lad, but blimey, player prices are going through the roof. We’re talking that much for a player who has only played at Championship level? They’ll have to significantly reduce that asking price, I think.
