Manchester United’s young goalkeeper, Kieran O’Hara, has signed a new two-and-a-half-year contract at the Theatre of Dreams, according to the Manchester Evening News.
O’Hara, 21, now has a Red Devils contract until 2020, following loan spells at both Stockport and Morecambe in recent years. This season, he’s spent his time playing as United’s first-choice goalkeeper for the U23s.
United have been blessed with some fantastic goalkeepers down the years, and right now, they’ve got four brilliant options including young O’Hara who could have a big future at the club.
Right now, he’s obviously having to play back-up to the likes of David de Gea, Sergio Romero and Joel Pereira, but it says a lot about his talent that the club are willing to give him a new deal.
It will be tough for him to force his way in, but O’Hara just has to keep working hard. His moment will come, but for now, the best he can hope for is another loan move that’ll allow him to get some regular, competitive playing time.
O’Hara becomes the second player to sign a new contract this week, following Angel Gomes’ first professional deal.
