Man United hand injury-ridden star a new one-year extension: report

Luke Shaw is apparently stepping up a bid to return before Christmas, claims the Daily Mirror. The English media outlet adds that the club have also extended his contract by a further year, meaning he’ll remain a Red Devil until at least 2019.

On top of that, no talks regarding a long-term deal for the Englishman have taken place. In my opinion, that makes a whole lot of sense given the horrendous injury record he’s had recently. As we all know, he hasn’t featured once this year and the young man will be some way off the pace because he hasn’t had a pre-season at all.

I love Shaw and I believe he’s by far and away the most talented left-back we have on our books right now. There is just a major concern about how many games he’ll play every year.

Personally, I’d rather have someone who can get themselves fit and out on the field every weekend rather than someone who is constantly injured and that probably explains why Jose Mourinho and the board haven’t opened up talks about giving him a multi-year new deal keeping him at the Theatre of Dreams in the long-term.
