Although Manchester United players are currently in all corners of the globe during the international break, Jose Mourinho will be in Manchester, preparing hard for the Red Devils’ next game against Chelsea.
Before that clash, the self-proclaimed Special One’s task could potentially have been made somewhat easier, with Chelsea’s key defender, Antonio Rudiger, currently out injured. That’s been unearthed by the guys over at 101GreatGoals.
The Germany international will miss Die Mannschaft’s two upcoming games, with Chelsea now sweating on his fitness for the huge Stamford Bridge clash that takes place a week-on-Saturday.
Rudiger has become the integral figure in Maurizio Sarri’s water-tight defence. He’s a vocal leader, tough tackler and positionally sound. He’s grown into the role as a Chelsea lead man and if they’re missing him, it could help Romelu Lukaku, who is struggling for confidence at the moment; he needs every little boost he can get.
Notoriously, United have struggled at Stamford Bridge. It has never been a happy hunting ground. Let’s put it this way, I’d much prefer to see Andreas Christensen or Gary Cahill in the line-up rather than Rudiger.
On the opposite side, United will be praying that both Luke Shaw and Nemanja Matic can overcome their respective injuries and get themselves out on the field.
