Man United handed early boost as Spurs likely to be without Son for Premier League clash

Man United have been given an early boost ahead of a meeting with Jose Mourinho, due to a Heung-Min Son injury…

The Red Devils have started this season in unconvincing fashion. It can be put down to a lack of match sharpness due to no pre-season, but simply put, United haven’t been good enough.

Right now, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs all the help he can get. No doubt he would’ve breathed a minor sigh of relief when reading his paper this morning…

United have been handed an early injury boost ahead of their game against Spurs next weekend. That’s because Jose Mourinho is likely to be missing his key star, Heung-Min Son, who is injured…

The South Korean scored four against Southampton a week or so ago. However, he had to be substituted at half-time during Spurs’ 1-1 draw with Newcastle. After the game, the self-proclaimed Special One confirmed he’ll be out for ‘a while’.

When asked about the Son injury, Mourinho responded:

“It’s an injury. We’ll have him out for a while. It’s his hamstring.” Mourinho told Football.London.

I never like seeing footballers get injured, though it is a part of the game. This season, I fully expect to see more than normal due to the fact that these players have had little-to-no rest and hardly any pre-season.

It cannot be denied, though, that the game will be easier for United to plan for without having to worry about Son. He’s a world-class footballer who I’d love to see at Old Trafford – though that’s never going to happen, unfortunately.

For United, it’s about getting those confidence-levels back and playing their own game. It’s fair to say we were not good enough against Brighton on Saturday. We’ll have to be miles better when we meet them again in the cup on Wednesday, before welcoming Mourinho and his Spurs back to Old Trafford next weekend.

I’m hopeful that winning the Brighton game how we did on Saturday will spur our boys on. At the very least, they’ll be feeling better about their display due to winning the three points, that’s for sure…
