Man United handed early boost, Barcelona sweating on fitness of key man: report

Manchester United were probably handed the toughest Champions League draw possible; FC Barcelona, a two-legged date with the best player on the planet.

After the heroics of beating Paris Saint-Germain, though, United will feel anything is possible. In that tie, the Red Devils were lucky as they didn’t have to face Neymar.

Now, they may well be about to get another big boost. That’s according to the Manchester Evening News, who claim that Luis Suarez could miss the game against United, with the Catalans sweating on his fitness.

Apparently, the superstar 32-year-old has suffered an ankle sprain with the attacker set to undergo tests to determine the severity.

If he is ruled out of at least the first leg, it gives United one less problem to worry about – and an added motivation to go out there and try to build an early lead.

Everyone knows that this is going to be a big ask, but you just never know in football. If United get one or two lucky breaks that go their way – with Suarez missing being one of them, you’d start to feel much more confident about our chances.

I never want to wish injury on anyone, but if there’s one player I wouldn’t like to see at Old Trafford in a few weeks time, it’s Suarez as he’s not particularly liked around these parts. But I’m not going to get into that today…
