Man United have a new top transfer target as duo deemed too expensive for Red Devils: report

Manchester United and Jose Mourinho are yet to make a dent into their rather deep bank accounts at this point in the transfer window, but that isn’t for the want of trying. Our move for Antoine Griezmann has been scuppered, and now, it looks as though we’ve also ruled out moves for two brilliant strikers.

That’s according to the Daily Telegraph, who claim that both Romelu Lukakau and Andrea Belotti have been deemed too expensive by the Old Trafford club, and now their attentions have turned to Alvaro Morata of Real Madrid.

The Spaniard is apparently a ‘more viable’ option at this point in time, and the Red Devils believe that Morata is indeed the man to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s goals.

It is thought that any move for the 24-year-old would be a completely different deal to that involving David de Gea if our #1 does eventually move to Real Madrid.

Morata is valued at around the £50million mark with United set to bid less than that. Whereas the aforementioned duo of Lukaku and Belotti could cost £100million and £87million respectively which is an insane amount of money.

Although I’m a fan of Morata’s, it would be a little underwhelming after being linked with a move for Antoine Griezmann. However, Mourinho has worked with the striker previously and will know an awful lot about his style of play.

Our manager has been excellent when it comes to signing players up until this point, so we’d have to give him our full backing until that changes.
