Man United have already made their move to sign AS Monaco defender, Vanderson.
There can be no doubt that Manchester United absolutely improved their squad over the summer, with Erik ten Hag landing six new players – all of which fit his system better than their predecessors.
One position which the club opted against strengthening was right-back. Instead, the Red Devils chose to spend that budget bringing in the winger they really wanted; Antony.
Well, it seems clear to us that in future, possibly as early as January, the Old Trafford club will bring in someone who can seriously compete with Diogo Dalot for that starting right-back position.
It’s Sport (Wednesday print edition) with the claim, with the translation coming via Sport Witness. Their article is actually based around FC Barcelona’s interest in AS Monaco right-back, Vanderson. However, United also get a mention.
It’s stated that United have ‘already begun’ a move to try and ‘tie up’ the signing of Vanderson.

Apparently, the Brazilian was valued at over £50m by AS Monaco, which is obviously a huge asking price for a player so young.
No doubt that fee will not come down anytime soon, so United will be aware of just how much money Vanderson would cost.
Whether a January move is genuinely possible remains to be seen. Obviously, the club spent an awful lot of money over the summer and whether they can find another £50m+ to bring in Vanderson is another question entirely.
It does feel like the curtains are drawing on Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s time at Old Trafford, though, with the manager seemingly not a huge fan of the Englishman’s.
If I had to guess, this feels like a move that would be more likely to happen next summer, rather than this coming January.
