Man United are making a move to sign Tosin Adarabioyo on a pre-contract.
Manchester United still have many flaws within their first-team squad. Erik ten Hag has made some good signings, though the dressing room still doesn’t feel like one that’s capable of competing for major honours.
INEOS are now in charge of footballing operations and it feels like Sir Jim Ratcliffe is looking to be far more astute with money, rather than just splashing the cash somewhat recklessly.
Perhaps we’re now seeing the first signs of that, with INEOS eyeing up a free transfer in the form of Tosin Adarabioyo.
It’s TEAMtalk with the exclusive, who claim that United have approached’ the 26-year-old about signing on a pre-contract deal this summer. The Reds will face competition from Tottenham Hotspur for the centre-back.
Adarabioyo has been at Fulham since 2020, impressing at Craven Cottage after leaving Manchester City. He has now gone from strength to strength, proving himself as an integral part of their back line.
Understandably, Fulham have been keen to sign Adarabioyo down to fresh terms, though their attempts have failed so far.
The Reds have had many defensive issues this season, with the club looking to fix that by moving for Adarabioyo. United are also credited with interest in Jarrad Branthwaite.
Adarabioyo now has a big decision to make. Although Tottenham Hotspur are more likely to have European football on the table, United could give him a better chance at regular playing time. It’s an intriguing decision for the Englishman, who was born here in Manchester.
I do like the idea of signing Adarabioyo on a free transfer, though, as it would be a relatively risk-free signing due to the lack of transfer fee.
