Man United have been given the opportunity to sign Wolves attacker, Pedro Neto.
Manchester United Football Club are looking thin in the wide areas. As we’ve seen, one injury to a player leaves us with Anthony Elanga as a guaranteed starter. No offence to the Swede, but that’s not a position a side with the Reds’ stature should be in at this early stage in the player’s career.
Antony was the name Erik ten Hag was initially chasing, though the Old Trafford club have been priced out of a move to sign the Brazilian.
That has left Erik ten Hag with no choice but to look elsewhere. Several names have been linked as you’d imagine, though none with real credibility or consistency.
Over the last 24 hours, 90min believe that Pedro Neto is someone under possible consideration.
According to the claim, United have ‘been offered’ the chance to sign the 22-year-old winger this summer.
Wolves are set to break their transfer record to sign Matheus Nunes, while they’ve already acquired Goncalo Guedes and Nathan Collins this summer. The feeling is that they made need to sell a ‘big-money asset’ in order to balance the books.
Hence giving United a chance to sign Neto, who’d fetch a ‘significant fee’, while providing the Old Trafford club with an answer to their issues on the wings.
Although no transfer fee is mentioned, Wolves are not going to let one of their key players leave cheaply.
What I like about Neto is that he’s young, versatile and comes with Premier League experience, We’re at that stage in the window where the Reds need players who can come in and perform from day one. The Portuguese star could do exactly that.
