Manchester United links to Jadon Sancho simply won’t go away, with the Red Devils looking to fix a right-wing problem that has been a void probably since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club.
The English superstar was back in action with Borussia Dortmund yesterday, albeit as a second-half substitute.
Well, before that game, the usually reliable David Ornstein gave us an update on Sancho’s future for The Athletic (subscription required).
Ornstein was discussing the futures of Bundesliga stars, and admitted that United have been the ‘most proactive’ club in their advances for the 20-year-old, though there is tough competition for his signature.
Recently, there has been ‘dialogue’ from both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, while Chelsea remains interested, though they haven’t made contact with the German outfit since January.
It goes without saying that Sancho would be a sublime signing for the eventual winner of his signature. To me, it feels as if United have constantly been leading that chase, though it’s not over till it’s over.
With the two Spanish powerhouses now scoping out Sancho, things were made much tougher. The youngster has to seriously consider both clubs as it goes without saying, they’ve been in a far better place than United have over the last few years.
But, if a return to England and the Premier League is his dream, it does seem like Old Trafford is the best possible landing spot for him. Although Sancho would cost a huge amount of money, it’d definitely be money well spent…
