Man United are seemingly interested in exploring a move to sign Benjamin Sesko.

Over the last few days, stories linking Benjamin Sesko with a potential move to Manchester United have been ramping up.

Those rumours absolutely make sense, given the fact that the Old Trafford club could be in the market to sign a striker – particularly if Cristiano Ronaldo does leave.

Well, the latest update in regards to Sesko came last night from Fabrizio Romano, via his YouTube channel.

He starts by stating United are interested in Sesko, while the Reds have had ‘direct contact’ with Sesko’s agent over the potential signing of his client.

However, acquiring the teenager this summer may be tough. Red Bull Salzburg, Sesko’s current club, want to keep ahold of the striker until next year. If the Reds want to bring the Slovenian in during this window, it will take an ‘important bid’.

United aren’t alone in the chase of Sesko either, with Romano also crediting Newcastle United will interest in the emerging star.

Sesko’s rise to prominence continued with a top performance against Liverpool in pre-season. The young striker led the line well, scoring the only goal of the game as Salzburg beat Jurgen Klopp’s side 1-0.

Whether the youngster is ready to make that huge jump up to the Premier League remains to be seen. However, the talent is obviously there and this boy does have the potential to be special.

I genuinely wouldn’t mind exploring this deal a little more, gauging whether there’s a genuine chance United can sign Sesko this summer. However, if signed, he’d move to Manchester with huge pressure – assuming he would be viewed as the eventual Ronaldo replacement…
